Nature tells us a different story.
Take the native men and women from aboriginal tribes the world over, who roamed/or still roam the countryside for food and shelter. Let us imagine what they eat, just to mention the physical side of life.
I won’t go into details, but roughly speaking, we can imagine they would have eaten and are still eating, the foods that were/are in their area, in season, ripe, the vegetarian foods direct from the tree or bush, without preservatives, grown absolutely organic, most of the foods probably uncooked, no salt or sugar added and not kept for any length of time. Any animal foods are/were freshly gathered and eaten immediately, sometimes dried and never frozen, except foods those natives gathered, who live in the Arctic circle.
How does that compare to what you eat today?** Once the season ends, we often continue eating produce, that is imported from overseas, which is usually irradiated and the juices come in a powdered form with preservatives added, so they can be kept for a long time.
I am saying, that we must eat foods IN SEASON, because that is what nature has planned**. Every food has certain properties to help us be well, and they are the best taken during the ripening season.**
A lot of people today are doing their utmost to immolate this very situation, by growing whatever they can in their garden. That is the way we should all be involved as part of our daily life.**
Before I started travelling in 2009, I lived on a 7 acre bio-dynamic /permaculture farm, which my partner and I set up 13 years before. We grew nearly all of our food. It also served as a demonstration farm.**
We had workshops on bio-dynamics, permaculture, straw bale building, cob oven building, making butter and goats yoghurt from our own goats milk and at times we invited other guest speakers, who might cover other subjects such as The Australian Bush flower Essences, Agnihotra and more.**
On Tuesdays, we had a group of 12 people come for lunch and learn what we did. My partner would prepare a meal, fresh from the gardens, sometimes cooked and other times raw and we introduced produce, which were not normally available in the shops. These people were completely ignorant in this field, when they first came to us and wanted to learn how to do all this and be self-sufficient. After about 12 months, all of them were growing a lot of their foods organically and some of them even bio-dynamically.** We all used to share our produce on that day as well.**
One of the guys, who was a cattle farmer on 300 acres, turned his property into a bio-dynamic farm and grew his cattle feed that way. He could not believe the production he achieved after 3 years and at the right price. His story is in my book. I can tell you many similar stories, but I hope you are catching on now.**
Food must be natural and nutritious to maintain our health. So it should be freshly picked each day preferably. So really, we should grow our own!** DON’T PANICK, IT IS ALL POSSIBLE! Find your local people who are involved in bio-dynamics and permaculture and they can help you with all the details.**
Taking vitamin and mineral supplements, cannot achieve what nature can on this level of health. Modern Naturopaths, often prescribe a lot of vitamins and minerals, without taking into account, that real fresh organic (bio-dynamic) foods, have these elements in them from he soil they grow in.
This therefore has become a business proposition, without having the client’s real care in mind. Some health food shops are also full of pills and potions and some of the owners have no idea what they are all about. In fact I have seen many health food shop owners, who are overweight or otherwise unhealthy and they themselves need a good fix.** There are times, when you need a pick-up pill, because you have not been able to maintain your health by eating the food, your body needed, so that is the time to get a pill from your trusted health food store or Naturopath. And again, we all need different food intakes, which makes things even more difficult at times.
Most food products we can buy from take-away outlets and super markets, are absolute garbage and should not be consumed at all. If I was directed to go to a super market and leave healthy foods on the shelves and discard the not healthy foods, the shelves would be nearly or completely empty.**
I do not have time to go into the reasons why, but I am sure you all agree with me deep down in your heart. Some say:”It’s so convenient, or I haven’t got time to prepare meals, as both of us work etc.” but that does not change the fact these foods have no value.** They fill you up and make you think that you have eaten a good meal, because they advertise that fact, but alas, that is not true.** Meanwhile you are poisoning yourself and your children.**
DO YOU HAVE TIME TO BE SICK AND LIE IN BED FOR DAYS OR MORE**AND THEN SIT IN A WAITING ROOM OF THE DOCTOR REGULARLY AND BE POISONED, SO YOU HAVE TO GO BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN, TO FIX THE PROBLEM CAUSED BY THE NEWLY INTRODUCED DISEASE?**
